Nigerian philanthropist, Chief Kessington Adebutu is said to be sponsoring a major project, a six-floor, three-block building at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, to be named Dame Caroline Kessington Adebutu (KJV) School of Pharmacy, in memory of his late wife, Mrs. Caroline Oladunni Adebutu.
The project marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s health sector, aimed at addressing the growing issue of counterfeit drugs.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, stated that the project will not only enhance the fight against fake drugs, but will also boost research in addressing various health problems in Nigeria.
“This initiative aligns with Babcock University’s mission to provide top-tier healthcare education and contribute to the improvement of Nigeria’s health sector,” he said.
He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards throughout the project’s execution.
Prof. Ezekiel Adeniran, Associate Vice-President for Works and Physical Planning, promised that the project would be completed with integrity and without compromising on quality.
Jide Idowu, CEO of CadTech, stated that the building will be completed by October this year, adding, “we are committed to delivering the project on time and to the required standards.”
