In a groundbreaking move, Abuja is poised to become Africa’s preferred tourist destination with the launch of Pinnacle City, an iconic mega-integrated city resort.
This revolutionary project promises to transform the economic landscape of the continent by creating a hub for tourism, sports, leisure and entertainment.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the President/CEO-Nigeria, Dr Elvis Abang, said the Pinnacle City is designed to be a global and integrated modern entertainment city, boasting the world’s largest man-made lagoon, a natural wildlife reserve, African village, Olympic stadia and village, water parks, the presidential retreat and library, among other attractions.
Expressing grief over the development of Nigeria’s tourism, he noted that the project’s first phase is set to establish a new benchmark for tourism and entertainment in Africa.
He added that Pinnacle City is strategically positioned to tap into this potential, aiming to surpass existing records with its 100-hectare man-made lagoon.
He said: “When completed, it will become Africa’s preferred tourist destination. The Pinnacle City in Abuja is an iconic mega-integrated city resort of sports, leisure, entertainment, home and eco-city, envisioned to develop a mega-integrated city for the future that will become a destination for an economic miracle in tourism, sports, leisure, and entertainment, making it the world’s largest eco-friendly city on the African continent.
“The concept of this project is to build a global and integrated modern entertainment city in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria, and that will radically change the African regional map of economic, medical tourism and sustainable residential spots, leisure and entertainment policy.
“The pre-launch of the first phase of the project is to publicly establish our plans in locating the world’s largest and tallest sports, leisure and entertainment city on the African continent.
“After many years of planning, during which we have been developing the largest man-made lagoon in the world, a natural wildlife reserve, an African village, Olympic stadia and village, water parks, a presidential retreat camps, and a library, a man-made waterfall, etc.
“Today, there is a great opportunity in our Motherland, with the advent of the Pinnacle Falls Resort, the Pinnacle City. We intend to develop a seven-star city which will have the largest man-made lagoon in the world.
“The current record is being developed in Dubai, which is about 40 hectares of land. Saudi Arabia is doing about 106 hectares of land, but we will surpass that in the Pinnacle City to develop a 100-hectare lagoon. Now, this is our signature project and we are working in partnership with the world’s best lagoon company in the world.”
The press conference also had in attendance the representative of the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Minister of Tourism.
