UWGN and Casava Insurance’s Successful Books/Art Buddies Program in Lagos Island Schools

United Way Greater Nigeria, in partnership with Casava Insurance, is delighted to announce the success of the Books/Art Buddies Program, a collaborative effort between United Way Greater Nigeria (UWGN) and Casava Insurance, concluded with resounding success at St. Peters (Faji) Primary School, St. Mary Girls Primary School, and St. Mary Convent Primary School Lagos Island on March 21st, 2024.

The Book/Art Biddies Program aimed to empower young children between the ages of 4 and 9 with essential knowledge and skills while fostering a love for reading and creativity by reaching out to 100 students across the three participating schools and donating the recently released storybook for children, by the renowned novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. These captivating books not only enriched the students’ literary experience but also served as a testament to the power of storytelling in igniting young minds.

The success of the Books/Art Buddies Program underscores the commitment of UWGN and Casava Insurance in making a meaningful difference in the lives of children across Nigeria communities. Through collaborative efforts and shared values, they continue to strive towards creating quality education and learning outcome.

The Executive Director of United Way Greater Nigeria, ‘Deola Durodola, during her speech at the Event said “We are grateful to Casava Insurance for partnering with United Way Greater Nigeria in our mission to promote literacy and education in Lagos Schools. We believe that programs like this will instill a lasting appreciation for reading among the children, thereby positively influencing their education and reading habits” – Deola Durodola, Executive Director of United Way Greater Nigeria.
