Counter Terrorism Coalition, FG  to Collaborate on Fight against Insurgency

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC)  has pledged its commitment to support and collaborate with the Nigerian government in the fight against terrorism in line with its core values and strategic objectives.

The commitment was  reached after a meeting held behind  closed door between the representatives of the Saudi Minister of Defence, Chief of Joint Staff , Secretary General of IMCTC, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence and other major stake holders of the Saudi Government who all attended the session.

At the meeting, the old and strong cordial relationship that has long existed between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia was also emphasised.

Others included issues of collaboration, transfer of military technology and Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) on security cooperation that were also discussed during the meeting.

It was envisaged that the very important decisions reached at the meeting would eventually improve collaboration in the fight against terrorism globally and subsequently enhance counter-terrorism and security efforts across the African Sahel region which would eventually aid in further degrading the operations and activities of Boko Haram.
