Sanwo-olu Urges Calm, Promises Probe of Mandilas Fire

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu has urged Lagosians to remain calm following the inferno that engulfed a warehouse at the popular Mandilas Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.

The fire which reportedly originated on the 1st floor and got to the 4th. 

In a press statement issued a few hours after the incident, the governor assured Lagosians of the diligence of the emergency team at the fire accident site.

He stated: “Currently, our brave teams from Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations are actively engaged in firefighting operations.

“The cause is yet to be determined, but investigations are underway. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. 

“I’d like to urge everyone to remain calm as all of our first responders are working hard to bring the situation to a complete halt.”

Furthermore, he saluted the courage of the  firefighting teams and other first responders, including security personnel in responding to the fire situation which has caused damage to properties worth millions of naira in the 10-storey building.
