Group Defends Tunji-Ojo, Denounces Allegations as Baseless

A group, Elite Africa, has hit out against the South West Integrity Group for demanding the suspension of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

The South West Integrity Group, in a publication, had stated that Tunji-Ojo should resign over his alleged involvement in the recent controversy in the award of contracts at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

While reacting to the development, the Elite Africa, in a press statement issued by its coordinator, Ayodele Sunday, stated that the attack on Tunji-Ojo is nothing but a failed attempt by certain individuals who are not happy with the growing popularity of the minister.

“The timing of these allegations, coupled with the sweeping reforms he has instituted, raises eyebrows.

“It seems certain elements within the political landscape are uneasy with Tunji-Ojo’s unyielding stance against corruption.

“His track record of dismantling established systems of exploitation has made him a thorn in the side of those who thrived on malfeasance,” it said.

The group also urged members of the public to ignore the propaganda against Tunji-Ojo as they lack any iota of truth.

“Tunji-Ojo is a public officer that we can vouch for. He has proven himself worthy of the trust of the people. Those hiding behind faceless groups can do all they want, the people know the truth, they will stand and defend it no matter what,” it added.
