Navy Vows to Protect Kuje Residents from Kidnappers, Offer Free Medical Outreach

The Nigerian Navy has said it was committed to working with relevant security agencies to the halt the incessant cases of abduction in the Federal Capital Territory and sorrounding communities.
The Commander, Naval Unit Abuja, Commodore Sabo Lengaya, gave the assurance during a one-day medical outreach to Pegi community in Kuje Area Council, Abuja.
Kuje Area Councils had, in recent times, recorded many cases of kidnap for ransom and other criminal activities in the FCT including the invasion of the Kuje Prison by terror group, Boko Haram.
The commander said the Navy will continue to give back to the society in recognition of the cooperation and support they enjoy from them and as a way of promoting civil military relations
He therefore, urged the residents of the area council to continue to sustain the peace and support given to the military, by providing credible intelligence.
The outreach featured health talk, distribution of treated nets, hepatitis screening, malaria testing among others.
The elated members of the community, appreciated the Navy’s gesture and effort in the realisation of the military’s vision of achieving peace and security in the country.
