At a press conference in Lokoja yesterday, the spokesman of the forum, Idrisu Bala Abdulgafar, congratulated the winner, and commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for a peaceful conduct of the Saturday governorship election in the state.

He said: “We congratulate the winner of the just concluded November 11 gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, who is the candidate of APC.

“We are using this medium to also congratulate INEC for having painstakingly followed the processes of conducting the most free, credible and transparent election since 1999.

“This election is substantially in compliance with the electoral laws, and the electoral umpire has followed the electoral guidelines as amended. This election is unequivocally devoid of any sentiments, agenda or ethnicity. INEC announced the result after due diligent collation of results from all local government areas of Kogi State, and we make bold to say that this election is free, fair and credible, and therefore acceptable to us.

“Our appeal to all the political parties, especially the APC, is to be magnanimous in victory by demonstrating the policy of all-inclusive governance as exemplified by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The forum, therefore, Ododo to extend a hand of fellowship to all the political parties that contested in the election, to present their agenda for the development of Kogi State, “since the overriding principle is to bring a change for better.

“We shall not forget in a hurry to commend Governor Yahaya Bello for his dexterity and doggedness in providing leadership in all ramifications. Posterity will not forget you.

“We appeal to the governor-elect to build on united state where sections of the three senatorial districts are treated fairly without any iota of sentiments. United we stand and divided we fall. Your mandate is consolidation and discovering new grounds for posterity.”
