Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 14 kidnap suspects with five AK-47 rifles and two locally fabricated guns with 22 rounds of live ammunition.

The state Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, made the disclosure while parading the suspects at the force headquarters in Yola, the state capital.

Babatola further explained that he has worked out operational modalities to curb kidnapping activities in the state, hence, the strategies have yielded tremendous results

He added that measures have equally been taken by the state Police Command to improve response time, intelligence, and promptly visible policing to give the criminals no breathing space to carry out their nefarious activities again.

He said: “The Command is committed to getting rid of kidnapping and other criminal activities, and will diligently prosecute them.”

Meanwhile, he sounded a warning to kidnappers and other criminals to leave the state if they would continue in their criminal activities because the police will go after them.

He advised them to seek legitimate jobs to earn their living better than terrorising innocent individuals and depriving them of their property and money.

Babatola called on the public to report any suspicious movement to the police and go about their normal business without any fear because the police are determined to provide adequate security services for them.
