Nigeria’s Elites Celebrate The Macallan Harmony Collection Unveiling

On a cosy Thursday evening, Nigeria’s elite gathered at Koi Restaurant & Lounge in Victoria Island, Lagos, for an enchanting experience — the unveiling of The Macallan Harmony Collection, inspired by Intense Arabica. This intimate and immersive event was a celebration of the worlds of whiskey and coffee coming together in perfect harmony.

“We are delighted to introduce The Macallan Harmony Inspired by Intense Arabica to whisky lovers and coffee enthusiasts in Nigeria,” said Brand Education Manager, MEAI, The Macallan, Joddie Marriot. “This collection represents a celebration of the artistry and passion that goes into crafting our whiskies, as well as a unique opportunity to explore the interplay between two of the world’s most beloved beverages.”

Guided by The Macallan Brand Ambassador, Abuja, Adeyinka Adepetun, and The Macallan Brand Specialist, Rasak Makanjuola, along with the support of renowned coffee brand, Happy Coffee International, attendees embarked on a sensory journey. The worlds of coffee and whiskey creatively collided, resulting in an unforgettable experience. Guests learned to appreciate the full flavours and aromas of coffee, similar to the way they savour a dram of The Macallan single malt.

Throughout the event, guests were educated about the similarities between whiskey and coffee, from the aromas to the roasting process. The coffee used during the event was harvested from Taraba, adding a unique local touch. The highlight of the evening was the pairing ritual, where guests were captivated by the delightful harmony and sensory pleasures that emerge when whiskey and coffee unite.

The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Intense Arabica is inspired by the Ethiopian Arabica coffee bean and celebrates the world of coffee. Crafted from a combination of European and American oak casks, it boasts notes reminiscent of a sweet yet strong espresso coffee, beautifully complementing a coffee indulgence

At the core of the collection are five coffee masters who collaborated with The Macallan Whisky Maker, Steven Bremmer, lending their knowledge, creativity, and passion to bring this whisky to life. The Macallan Harmony Collection also explores The Macallan’s future packaging journey, featuring distinctive packaging made from repurposed and recycled materials, including coffee bean husks.

The unveiling of The Macallan Harmony Collection was nothing short of grandeur. Notable Nigerian elites from the worlds of entertainment and business took part in the multi-sensory affair, including OAP and Vice President, Marketing, Wakanow, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi; renowned fashion designer, Mai Atafo; GM M-Kopa Nigeria, Babajide Durojaiye, actor Eso Dike; beauty queen and Miss Africa 2022, Precious Okoye and more.
