In a bid to reduce traffic congestion around the Lekki Free Trade Zone, the Lagos State government has granted approval to a firm, Callup Technology, to develop and implement an Electronic Queuing Management System (EQMS) and an automated call-up system.

The Lekki Free Trade Zone, which is home to over 50 companies including the Dangote refinery, is expected to witness an increase in vehicular traffic.

In a bid to avoid a traffic disaster, the Lagos State Government has entered into an agreement with Callup Technology, a leading provider of innovative solutions for transportation management.

The EQMS which Callup Technology has adopted, revolutionizes truck traffic management by streamlining operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders in the transportation sector.

The EQMS is designed to address the challenges of congestion and optimize the flow of goods and services within the corridor. It incorporates state-of-the-art technology and intelligent algorithms to allocate resources efficiently and reduce waiting times for trucks.

By implementing this cutting-edge solution, Callup Technology aims to transform the transportation landscape in Lagos State, facilitating economic growth and fostering a more sustainable and efficient system.

In a statement, Mr. Timi Koleolu, CEO of Callup Technology, expressed his enthusiasm for the positive impact the EQMS will have on the corridor.

He stated, “Our Electronic Queue Management System is a game-changer in truck traffic management, providing real-time insights and actionable data to optimize the movement of trucks within the Lekki-Epe Free Zone Corridor. We are proud to introduce this advanced solution that will enhance operational efficiency, reduce congestion, and improve overall road safety.”

Mr. Koleolu went on to highlight the invaluable collaboration and support of key stakeholders in the transportation industry.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to His Excellency Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support throughout the development and implementation of the EQMS,” said Koleolu.

He also acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in promoting innovation and efficiency within the transportation and maritime sectors.

The statement added, “Callup Technology acknowledges the cooperation and support of key stakeholders in the transportation and maritime industries. By engaging with industry leaders such as the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), and National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), The Council of Maritime Truck Unions and Associations (COMTUA), Maritime workers union (MWUN) and The Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) Callup Technology ensures the successful onboarding of truck drivers onto the EQMS. This collaborative approach strengthens industry partnerships, enhances safety measures, and facilitates a seamless integration of all participants in the transportation ecosystem.

“Callup Technology is excited about the transformative potential of the EQMS and is committed to working closely with the Lagos State Government, relevant stakeholders, and industry players to ensure its widespread adoption and success.
