Gerry Nnubia’s The Faces of Us Amplifies Beauty, Resilience of Humanity

Art enthusiasts are having a moment at the ongoing virtual painting exhibition, “The Faces of Us: The Textured Tales of Humanity”, a collection of seven expressive works by renowned artist Gerry Nnubia. Rebecca Ejifoma explores the masterpiece

Gerry Nnubia, an expressive painter with all shades of precision, has successfully whipped up a sumptuous plate of paintings that celebrate the unique identity, resilience, and vulnerability of humanity on large canvases. The solo art show, “The Faces of Us”, kicked off on April 14 and will run until May 19.

Among his collection “Gilded Glamour”, “Faces of Bold Expressions”, “Textured Truths”, “Shifting Perspective”, “Abstracted Identity”, and “Fragments of Self”.

For Nnubia, each piece – carefully and boldly crafted with thick and sculpted palette knives – has its unique tale. Using compatible and well-mannered, he characterises his paintings with dynamic compositions that evoke many emotions.

While the exhibition intentionally features a diverse array of subjects, the painter engages the mind’s eyes of art enthusiasts. Each painting carefully captures the unique personality and character of its subject and allows viewers to savour his works on a deeper level.

Nnubia’s The Faces of Us

Nnubia’s collection, “The Faces of Us”, reflects impasto face paintings that explore the emotions etched into the human experience. This collection captures the essence of diverse individuals. It emphasises the interplay between the artist’s chosen hues. And the boldness of their strokes draws the audience into its mystery.

Succinctly put together, Nnubia expressed, “I am excited to share ‘The Faces of Us’ with the world.” He firmly believes that art can unite people and help them understand each other more deeply.

Created on the backdrop to remind people of the power and complexity of human emotions, Nnubia’s “The Faces of Us” is a must-see for art lovers and anyone who appreciates the beauty and intricacy of the human experience. The exhibition is now open and available to view online and purchase.

The aesthetic artist is known for his unique and expressive style and has a decade-long career. He has exhibited his works in galleries and private institutions worldwide, earning critical acclaim and numerous accolades.

Exhibiting on the platform of The Jadé Art Collectives Limited and soothingly curated by Nigerian-UK-based art connoisseur Aderonke Akinyele, Nnubia’s artistic vision is rooted in the belief that everyone has a story worth telling, and his paintings aim to capture the essence of these stories through the faces of his subjects. “From the joyous to the sorrowful, each portrait in “The Faces of Us” is a testament to the beauty and strength of the human spirit,” says the curator.
