Oreva Okowa: Empowering Women and Youth Through Fashion Design

Orevaoghene Faith Okowa, a renowned fashion designer and instructor, has made significant contributions to the fashion industry in Nigeria. Born on December 6th, 1983, in Warri and hailing from the Isoko South Local Government Area, Okowa has become a respected figure in the fashion community.

Education played a crucial role in shaping Okowa’s career. She attended Omo Ode Primary School and later pursued her secondary education at Field Crest International High School in Warri. Her passion for fashion led her to pursue a degree in Fashion Design from Delta State University, Anwai Campus.

Okowa’s record of accomplishments speaks much about her passion and ability. She is the Managing Director, CEO, and Creative Director of the renowned fashion brand Signature Secret. Her vision and leadership took the brand to new heights, establishing it as a symbol of quality and style.

Okowa has also taken on leadership responsibilities in several fashion organisations. She is the President of the Delta State branch of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN). She also presides over the Delta State Fashion Designers and Exhibitors Association, proving her dedication to promoting and assisting fellow designers in the region.

As the Founder and President of The Delta Fashion Designer, she has built a platform to empower young designers and give them possibilities for growth and exposure. Furthermore, Okowa has served as a prominent trainer in the Delta State Employment Creation Programme (STEP PROGRAMME), where she shares her expertise and talents with budding fashion entrepreneurs.

Notably, her impact reaches even further as she operates as a trainer on the Amnesty Programme in the Niger Delta region. Through this initiative, she contributes to the rehabilitation and empowerment of individuals affected by conflicts in the area, using fashion as a means of skill development and economic empowerment.

Okowa’s core passion lies in empowering less privileged women and youth through skill acquisition. As the Founder of the Rural Women Empowerment and Less Privileged Skill Acquisition Network, she works tirelessly to provide opportunities for underprivileged individuals to learn valuable skills and improve their livelihoods.
