Controversial Catholic priest and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Ejike Mbaka, has called on political stakeholders to ensure that a terrorist and selfish candidate do not emerge as governor in the state, ahead of the 2023 general election.

Specifically, Mbaka called on party delegates to ensure that they select candidates with the right character who will work for the peace, progress and unity of the state.

Mbaka spoke yesterday  at the Adoration ground in Emene Enugu when he received one of the aspirants under the platform of the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governorship aspirants, Prof. Barth Nnaji.

He also used the opportunity to restate that has not recommended any candidate ahead of the 2023 governorship election.

Mbaka said: “Ahead of 2023, we don’t need terrorism in this state, we don’t want to hear that this one is in this cult, while the other person is in another cult and then a cult war will start.”

According to the Catholic priest, Enugu needs a father to be governor so he will bring the entire state together and ensure peace and prosperity.

“Our people can survive even if you don’t help them and my prayer is that he selects a man of peace, a good man, he said, adding that he is praying that God will give incumbent governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi the wisdom and grace to select a man after God’s own heart.

He maintained that any mistake made in the election will potentially land the People into trouble, adding that most of those aspiring to leadership positions so not have the interest of the people at heart.

Mbaka assured that he will work with any candidate who is prepared to work for the people, adding that whoever wants to toy with the poor will be chased out of the seat.
