MBHS Presents Nomination Form to Oluwasegun

The Methodist Boys’ High School, (MBHS) Old Boys Association, Pivot 94′ set, on Saturday presented a nomination form and expression of interest form to a frontline aspirant, Hon Olusegun Idowu, contesting as member of House of Assembly, Eti-Osa constituency 11, Lagos State.

The presentation of the form which was formally presented by immediate past Chairman, Mr. Tonye Preghafi of Methodist Boys’ High School,(MBHS) Old Boys Association, Pivot 94′ Set at Famoss Hotels, Obalende, Lagos, was said to be done in solidarity to Idowu’s ambition

In his speech, Preghafi said, “Segun is one of us for years . Many of us who had grew up together knew ourselves back in school then, some in 82 and 89 sets. Over the years, we had seen how impactful we all could be to the society, particularly after we all left Universities and we made tangible contributions within our political groups where we had chances defining ourselves to the society and Segun is one of those always come with ideas and ways of solving these problems.”

He stressed further that Segun was one of those always at the forefront “coming up with ideas and ways to solve some of these problems and we believe that, this is just our little ways supporting him in a real life situations not only typing in a WhatsApp or Instagram groups.

“This is the way the alumni MBHS could associate with one of us. Nigerian politics is beyond social media talk but taking active participation, to go out there and show support for Hon. Segun.

“He can do this in a real life and we are willing to support him with our resources to achieve this aim for him.”

While urging the people to support Segun, he stressed that he was the man of the people who knows the challenges of the people and will can solve it.

“The problems in the constituency are obvious. Segun is one to solve these problems. He is dependable and ethical person who keeps his words. Without being there, he has been doing a lot of things for the constituency”, Preghafi said.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Idowu said, “I am humble at the same time so surprised and also very happy for this show of love. This is just a gesture, I wasn’t even expecting because I was contemplating when they came with this.

“I have no choice to answer the call to those who knew me from from primary and those who we went to the same secondary schools together. Therfore, the friendship is over forty years. I can tell you that they know me from cradle.

“When we were all nothing and that is best of friendship and for them to have believed in me and able to put this up for me. I am very grateful to them.

“My aspirations for the youth in our constituency is collective representation where involve representative, I will want a situation whereby, we would have stakeholders meeting, town hall meeting every quarter where we meet with the people, know what their needs are with community engagement.”
