The organisers of ‘Beauty Needs Education’ (BNE) seminar have announced plans for this year’s edition of the initiative which primarily sought to achieve growth in the nation’s beauty sector.

BNE is a statewide effort to increase the awareness of client-aesthetician practices within the beauty industry and develop necessary actions that will prepare practitioners for world-class challenges.

The initiative, which is the result of a collaborative effort of Beauty Therapy Institutes (BTI) and Institute of Aesthetics, would offer insight and tips useful to improve growth and investment in the sector.

Currently, the Nigerian beauty and Personal Care market is worth more than $1.256 billion at retail and forecast to reach more than $1.311 billion in 2022, according to Euromonitor International

Addressing the press in Lagos, the Principal of BTI, Dr. Ifeoma Abajue stated that a programme of such was necessary to keep practitioners abreast of trends and updates in the industry, moreso, to deal with unprofessionalism in the field.

She maintained that practitioners must take a deliberate step to learn about the challenges and future of aesthetics in order to get them better prepared and educated against such.

.She said a number of industry experts from within and outside the country will be gracing the fourth edition of the programme slated for November 25 in Lagos.

She said, “Each year, individuals and patients are met with substandard treatments brought to them by unqualified and some qualified, yet un-thorough aestheticians/dermatologists and this further highlights the need to becoming a “7 Star Aesthetician.”

“Our organisation, BTI will be engaging participants including spas, clinics and schools on ways by which they can rise to industry standards, and even surpass in most cases.

“The session will be handled by our panel of speakers including the CEO of Zaron Cosmetics, Oke Maduewesi; Founder & Franchisor of BTI, Sandy Fuhr as well as Publisher of Genevieve Magazine, Betty Irabor as a special guest.”

She further expressed gratitude to the sponsor of the programme namely: Health line Limited, TopiCrem and JOUF Pharmaceuticals.
