‘Badboys and Bridesmaids’ Now in Cinemas

After a month drive and buzz on social media, pushing his new production, Seyi Babatope’s romantic drama “Badboys and Bridesmaids” opened in cinemas on October 8. This was heralded by an exclusive premiere at the Ebonylife Place in Victoria Island. The cast of the movie had their best designs on for the night and dazzled on the red carpet which had media girl Idia Aisien on the “best-dressed” list. As the female lead cast, Idia Aisien seems to have taken her chances further in the movie. “Convincing me she needed this to be hers. Well it’s yours now young queen ride with it”, Babatope acknowledged in a post.

Produced by Yomi Black for House of Dion, the feature film is set on the destination wedding of two high school lovers Jola and Jaiye. After two years in a perfect relationship without sex, Jola secured the ring! Now with just three days to their dream wedding, Jaiye has decided that he needs to consummate their marriage. “He wants to have sex. He’s in the room right now taking a shower”, Jola’s line in one of the scenes. What should she do? Directed by Seyi Babatope, the film’s cast is littered with emerging Nigerian acting talents, including Big Brother Naija stars Elozonam Ogbolu and Nengi Hampson.

It also stars Demola Adedoyin, Jidekene Achufusi, Idia Aisien, Jimi Akinsola, and Mercy Isoyip.Prior to the movie’s first night, Babatope successfully got expectations high with the official trailer for ‘Badboys and Bridesmaids’. In the movie, Jola (Idia Assien) fights through temptation and tries to resist her soon to be husband Jaiye (Jimi Akinsola) from doing the bedroom rodeo before their marriage. Jola’s bridesmaids fancy Jaiye to stay patient until after their wedding but, Jaiye’s groomsmen will not lay their ugly intentions to rest as they canvas for him to land the jackpot.

The story’s plot also reveal that both the groomsmen and the bridesmaids have history from their high school days, culminating in several rekindled love flames and scandals, as they prepare for Jola and Jaiye’s wedding. ‘Badboys and Bridesmaids’ is just a feel good movie with a classy cast, costume and setting.
