No Faction in Katsina PDP, Says Party

By Francis Sardauna

The Katsina State Chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), has debunked reports that the main opposition party in the state had broken into factions following its last state congresses.

The State Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, who denied the reports in an interview with some journalists in Katsina yesterday, said that the PDP remained one united and indivisible party in the state.

Some aggrieved members of the PDP had been parading themselves as faction of the party in the state under the auspices of “PDP Agyara.”

But Majigiri described those “spreading lies” over factions in PDP as veritable losers and enemies of the party, adding that anyone who says otherwise is an agent of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said: “There is no faction in Katsina PDP. Some aggrieved members move about to give an impression to the outside world that our party is fragmented when, in fact, we have only one Katsina PDP with legal-binded executive committees at ward, local and state levels.”

The PDP chairman, however, warned those peddling rumours indicating existence of factions or warring groups in the party to desist from such acts.

He stated that the party’s door is open for reconciliation with any aggrieved member as the party would continue to do everything humanly possible to ensure that it remained united.
