With Shooting Stars, Gombe United and Niger Tornadoes confirmed for promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), the last slot is to be determined today between Bendel Insurance and Remo Stars.
The last Group B match between the Insurance and Remo scheduled for yesterday was postponed till today after the Edo team protested the changing of the initial referees selected by the the NNL.
The drama of the last Group B game began on Friday when Ekiti United FC were awarded a questionable 89th minute penalty to tie the game 1-1 with Insurance.
Supporters of the Edo team protested what they termed poor call ostensibly manufactured to deny them the three points that would have piled pressure on Remo ahead of the last Group B match.
However, Insurance officials protested posting the same officials who allegedly worked against them in the fixture with Ekiti United.
Before the drama of the last game to decide which of the two teams will join 3SC, Gombe and Tornadoes, the Oluyole Warriors handed out a comprehensive 6-0 crushing to Ekiti United.
Both Gombe and Tornadoes that were on four points apiece, drew goalless to end up five point each. That result effectively nullified the 3-0 defeat El Kanemi handed out to DMD FC in the other game of Group A.
