Ememobong Emerges Coordinator of MPM in Ibiono Ibom LG

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong has emerged the Coordinator, Steering Committee of the socio-political organisation for grassroots mobilisation, Maintain Peace Movement, ( MPM ) in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.

The National Coordinator of MPM and National Legal Adviser of the People’s Democratic Party, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem made the announcement Thursday, when he led members of the socio-political organisation on a peace tour to Ibiono Ibom Council Headquarter at Okoita.

In his acceptance remark, the Commissioner said that Ibiono Ibom people were happy to recieve the MPM team, and pledged to work for the succes of the socio-political organisation in the area.

Cmrd. Ememobong said, ” Today, we have recieved the message of peace, we will engrain the message of peace and the message of peace will flourish in Ibiono Ibom “.

Speaking, Barr Enoidem said that the MPM was in Ibiono Ibom to canvass grassroots support for Governor Emmanuel’s Completion Agenda and the sustainance of the prevailing peaceful ambience being experienced in the state.

He said, ” The MPM has come to tell Ibiono Ibom people that peace has come to stay in Akwa Ibom State, and as preaservers of peace which is founded on equity, fairness and justice, we must continue to support the Governor”.

“We have come here to also seek the support and cooperation of Ibiono Ibom people on the political trajectory of the state, especially, on the Governor’s succession plan, come 2023 ” .

Similarly, the National Legal Adviser urged the people of Ibiono Ibom origin, who are of 18 years and above, to take advantage of the ongoing voters registration exercise, to register and obtain their permanent voters card in order to participate as eligible voters in the next general election in 2023.

He said, ” I want to tell Akwa Ibom people, beginning from Ibiono Ibom that everyone who has reached eighteen years and above is eligible to vote, and they can only exercise that right if they go out now to register and prepare to vote in the next elections “

He equally reminded the people that his political party, the PDP, had on the 9th of August, 2021, floated an e-Registration platform to facilitate mass registration of new members.

” An online portal has been setup by the PDP, and through that portal, every member of the party, irrespective of their location can register as a member of the PDP and obtain a digital membership card which will be used to vote in the party primaries “. Enoidem said.

Earlier, the MPM train stopped over at the Itu Local Government Council Headquarters in Mbak Atai for similar exercise as well as it peace advocacy, where the member representing Itu State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon Kufre-Abasi Edidem was inaugurated as the Coordinator, Steering Committee for Itu LGA.
