Though the ceremony appeared an open one, some people who claimed to be family members firmly but coolly insisted that some aspects of the solemn ceremony were not for public consumption and gently enforced the same.

The 50-year-old media magnate was discovered dead in an apartment at Adebowale Oshin Street, Leekki Phase 1 where he allegedly went for a tryst with one 21-year-old Chidinma Ojukwu said to be a 300 level student of the University of Lagos.

Chidinma, according to the police, was later arrested in their apartment at Yaba before she confessed to having had a minor scuffle with the late Ataga before he was stabbed.
She allegedly claimed they had done some drugs and were high before the misunderstanding that led to the death of Ataga.
