Bandits invaded the Federal Government Girls College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State on Thursday afternoon, kidnapped many students and killed some policemen.
During the attack, it was gathered that many of the girls in the school were taken away by the bandits while some of the policemen who tried to repel the attack were killed and their vehicles used as get away.
As at the time of filling this report, the number of girls kidnapped by the bandits from the school was still unknown but a source from Yauri said many of the school girls were taken away.
The state police command have yet to speak on the attack, neither have they confirmed the kidnap of the students and killing of the cops.
Many calls to the command’s PPRO were not answered but a source at police headquarters however said the police were still studying the situation and would make public the number of girls kidnapped by the bandits from the school.
