Tambuwal Warns MDAs against Rejecting Corps Members

The Governor of Sokoto State, Mr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has warned Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state against rejecting National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members posted to their establishment.

Tambuwal gave the warning yesterday during the closing ceremony of 2021 Batch A, Stream 2 NYSC’s orientation exercise at the corps’ Wammako Permanent Orientation Camp of the state.

The state governor, who was represented by the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Phillip Enatonme Enaberue, reiterated that the major objective of the NYSC is to foster unity and integration among the diverse nationality of Nigeria.

He assured that his administration would continue to provide enabling environment for corps members to discharge their responsibilities.

“This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the state and nation at large,” he said, adding that their performance could earn them special recognition and awards at the local, state and national level.

Tambuwal also urged the corps members to stay away from some vices like drug abuse, cultism and the banditry.

Speaking in the same vein, Enaberue commended the corps members for thei discipline and commitment they exhibited throughout the orientation exercise and urged them to take the good conduct to their places of primary assignments.

The state coordinator appreciated Tambuwal and the Chairman Wamakko Local Government Area, Mr. Bello Haliri Gwuiwa, as well as military personnel and members of other security agencies and well-meaning Nigerians for their support during the orientation exercise.

No fewer than 1414 corps members that comprised of 714 males and 700 females took part in the orientation exercise.
