Amid the rising spate of insecurity nationwide, the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (C&S worldwide) yesterday urged Nigerians to pray for the peace of Nigeria and God’s direction for all its leaders.

The church also challenged Nigerians, especially Christians across all denominations “to pray without ceasing for Nigeria until something positive happens to bring about sustainable development, peace and security in the country.”

The Spiritual Father of the Church, Prophet Samuel Abidoye made this call during the 2021 Mount Horeb Ascension programme on Saturday, challenging the Christian leaders nationwide to intercede for Nigeria’s peace and security.

Mount Horeb Ascension, an annual programme of C&S Worldwide, is currently ongoing nationwide under a theme, “Absolute Liberation” and with focus to intercede and pray for Nigeria and all its leaders across all levels.

In his message yesterday, the church leader observed that “all the leaders – the president, governors, lawmakers, ministers and chairmen of 774 local government areas, among others – need God’s direction to acquire understanding in solving the myriad of problems facing the federation.”

Abidoye, therefore, noted that the programme was “a period when we need to commit all our leaders in this country to the hands of the Lord for God’s wisdom and auction to function according to His will for our dear Country.

“It is a period when we need to redirect the affairs of our nation prayerfully. It is also a period when we need to ask God to take absolute control of Nigeria and the world at large,” the church leader said in his message.”

According to the prophet, it is also time for Nigerians to humble themselves and seek the face of the Lord over lives, families and the Nation in general.

Abidoye urged all Nigerians to join the church physically, spiritually or virtually to seek God during the 2021 Mount Horeb Ascension holding between May 2 and 9 at the Church International Headquarters, Galilee, Oyo State.

He cited 2 Chronicles 7:14 to assure Nigerians that God “will put an end to the prevailing security challenges in the country only if all Nigerians can diligently seek God; pray fervently to Him and trust all promises in the scripture.

“In 2 Chronicles 7:14, our God says if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

“Let us go back to the Lord for blessing, protection and for peace in Nigeria and for He will deliver us from our numerous problems of insurgence, kidnapping, banditry, political instability, bad governance etc. I assure that God will fight for us and He will give us victory”, he assured.

“I am overwhelmed by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ for this opportunity to witness the celebration of another Mount Horeb Ascension Programme of our church, which comes up in the first week of May annually.”

The church leader, however, explained how COVID-19 made it practically impossible to plan and converge physically for the 2020 Mount Horeb Ascension.

This year, according to Abidoye, we bless the Lord for giving us victory over COVID-19. Now, all hands are on deck for the 2021 Mount Horeb Ascension.
