Senate Approves FIRS’ N168.9bn 2020 Budget

* Confirms Osun REC, RMAFC commissioner nominees

The Senate on Wednesday approved N168.9 billion 2020 budget for the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

This was sequel to the adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on Finance on the FIRS budget presented by its Chairman, Senator Olamilekan Adeola.

The upper chamber also confirmed the nomination of Dr. Adeniran Tella from Osun State as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) and Hassan Usman as Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The Senate confirmed the two nominees based on the adoption of the reports presented at plenary by the Committees on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and National Planning and Economic Affairs which recommended their appointments.
