Kano State Police said they had arrested a man alleged to have raped 40 women in one of the towns in the state.
The Kano Police Spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the arrest to reporters on Wednesday.
He said, ”It is true. We have him in our custody. We are parading him soon.”
Mr. Haruna added that the suspect, known as “Mai siket” (man in skirt), fled but was apprehended by neighbors after a woman caught him in her children’s room in Dangora town of Kano State.
“People of Dangora are so happy at this time and we hope justice will be served appropriately,” the police spokesman said.
