Obaseki condoles with family of late Eguavoen, extols his giant strides

…to name street where Emotan Gardens Estate is located after late real estate mogul

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has described erstwhile Chairman of Mixta Africa, late Arc. Eddy Eguavoen, as a mentor and role model to many Edo people, who drew inspiration from his giant strides in the real estate sector.

Obaseki said the state government will immortalise late Eguavoen by naming the street where Emotan Gardens Estate is being developed after the late architect.

The governor paid glowing tribute to the Late Eguavoen, during a service of songs held in his honour, in Benin City, Edo State.

He said Edo State is proud of the landmark contributions of late Eguavoen, especially in his roles as the Chairman of Mixta Africa, through which he contributed immensely to the development of Emotan Gardens Estate in Benin City.

He noted, “The Government and people of Edo state are grateful for the role he played as Chairman of Mixta Africa in the development of Emotan Gardens Estate.”

He recalled that late Eguavoen as a close family friend was helpful when he set up his business. “Words can’t express my sadness and grief when I heard of the passing of your beloved husband, father, good friend and brother. I will forever cherish the support he gave to my firm and during my campaign,” he said.

The first son of the deceased, Mr Osagie Eguavoen, commended the governor for the show of love to the family, noting, “The show of love has been overwhelming. I am impressed with stories of my father’s simplicity, honesty and love.”
