Guchi Sets to Regale Lagos Audience with Vocal Chain Concert November 25

As part of his first classical music solo concert tour of Nigeria, the tenor Guchi Egbunine will be hosting Lagos music aficionados to a special evening of pop-opera, Broadway, Jazz, musicals and opera on Sunday, November 25 at the Agip Recital Hall of the MUSON Centre in Onikan, Lagos from 6pm.

The tour will see the man, fondly called Chief Tenor, performing in Port Harcourt on Sunday, December 2, at The Dome, along Peter Odili Road from 6pm, in Abuja on Sunday, December 9 at The British Village, IBB Way from 7:30pm and in Benin on Friday, December 14, at the Government House, GRA Benin from 6pm.

The Vocal Chain Ensemble, made up of a group of singers and instrumentalists, features top classical, Nigerian traditional and jazz musicians from Nigeria and outside Nigeria, as well as poets and promising amateurs who deserve the stage. It was founded by Egbunine alongside Kester Foundation, a charity organisation, funded through the annual Vocal Chain Concert also known as Tour de Vocals.

Egbunine’s voice uniquely stands out in stunning opera performances, as he intricately balances a creative style of classical and pop fusion. His remarkable tenor voice has earned him roles in operas composed by famous composers like Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Gilbert and Sullivan, to mention a few. He has received several awards from multinationals, NGO’s and religious bodies. His performances range from opera to pop-opera, native arias, Broadway, musicals, classical, art music, Jazz, cross-over and Neapolitan music.
