A former Group Politics Editor of THISDAY Newspaper, Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu, has been appointed the new National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
THISDAY gathered that his appointment was approved at a meeting of the APC National Working Committee held Friday night in Abuja.
Issa-Onilu vied for the National Publicity Secretary post in the party’s elective convention earlier in the year but lost to Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi, who later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Mr. Yekini Nabena who had been acting as spokesman of the party since the resignation and defection of Abdullahi in August, confirmed Issa-Onilu’s appointment to THISDAY.
Issa-Onilu, who hails from Ilorin in Kwara State like his predecessor, is a graduate of Mass Communication from University of Lagos. A member of several professional bodies, he also obtained certificates from institutions within and outside Nigeria.
