APC Governorship Aspirant in Benue Debunks Plans to Adopt a Consensus Candidate

A Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Benue State, Mr. Benjamin Adanyi has debunked recent statements that the APC had agreed on a consensus candidate to run its ticket in the 2019 poll.

He denied insinuations that the leader of APC in the state, Senator George Akume has anointed Director General of NEPZA, Hon. Emmanuel Jime to be the party’s sole candidate in this Saturday governorship primary.

Adanyi who spoke to reporters in Makurdi, the state capital, yesterday said “Such insinuations are a figment of imagination of those who are scared of aspirant like me. I am the aspirant to beat. I am fully prepared and confident of emerging as the governorship candidate of the party.

He said at no point was such an agreement ever reached.

He stated that he is on a rescue mission to restore the state to the path of development, while adding that he plans to rescue the state from the troubled sinking ship of bad governance.

He said his rescue team intends to rebuild every sector of the state, maintaining that he will liaise with the federal government to plung every loopholes in ensuring good governance.
