A career and work life blog that addresses how people can manage work and personal life issues, has been launched in Nigeria.
According to the organiser and blogger, Favour Erebosi-Samuel, a trained broadcast journalist that has made impact in brand and marketing, “one of the categories in the blog is the ‘workpalaver share it’, where employees and employers can share their work place experiences, the good and the bad.”

The idea, according to Erebosi-Samuel, was conceived out of her several experiences at different work places, the culture, values that organisation embrace and disregard, how employees are treated well and badly. She explained that sometimes employees do not speak out about their challenges at work place as they rather prefer to bottle everything up, suffering and smiling. She, however, said her blog is a community for all stakeholders, the CEOs, managers, and even the cleaners. “We sure have something for everyone” she explained.

She further revealed that the blog is a platform that several life-transforming events/program will be built upon.
“We have plans to include the Youth Call corner to the blog, where calling members will constantly be kept abreast of career and work life issues before embracing it, and this is like preparing them for the future,” she said.

“The blog known as 9to5.com.ng, will also publish articles that look at a variety of issues revolving around work imbalance and leisure time. We provide career advice to help people of all ages and profession achieve a healthy balance of work and relaxation through insightful featured articles that contain tips and recommendations. This blog is extremely helpful for parents struggling to achieve a work-life balance due to their personal and professional commitments,” she said.

“We also have the CEO Connect, where we share biography of CEOs who have made their marks in Nigeria,” Erebosi-Samuel said, while further revealing that that the blog will remain a platform for working parents to share their daily dairies with people, pertaining issues at work or home.
“Our aim is to redefine work culture in Nigeria and create a work life balance for all 9to5 stakeholders,” she said.
