ICONIC Nigeria 2018 Graduate Summer for June 20

Nigeria’s annual business ranking publication, ICONIC Nigeria, has announced it would be holding its 2018 Graduate Workshop on June 20 in Lagos. In partnership with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), ICONIC Nigeria shall host a group of unemployed and underemployed Nigerian graduates to a day of mentoring and networking.

The Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, is partnering with ICONIC Nigeria to host this workshop, and will have exclusive rights to cover the event. “Our publication’s target audience, who are primarily Nigerian Millennials, particularly graduates, are facing the burden of a poorly diversified economy. Present statistics show that there are millions of unemployed and underemployed graduates in Nigeria. We hope that our graduate workshops will provide them with invaluable lessons and networking experiences for the corporate world,” said Chi-Elizabeth Duru Ocan, Chief Editor, ICONIC Nigeria.

The Graduate workshop, which is a non-profit event, shall kick off with a symposium session in the morning where five keynote speakers shall address the Efficacy of Economic Diversification and Entrepreneurship in Transforming Nigeria’s Economy (the workshop theme). The ensuing session is the Mentor Lunch where the graduates will break into smaller groups for lunch with their assigned mentors. The career fair and entrepreneur lab session, for on-the-spot job interviews and start-up launch pad, will be the culmination of the workshop. There will also be adequate awareness created to encourage graduates who are open to joining the Nigerian armed forces or law enforcement agencies.

“The Graduate workshop is a not-for-profit event that we are passionate about and fully committed to planning on an annual basis to support and guide our network of graduates in their chosen career paths”, Head of Research, ICONIC Nigeria, Ogochukwu Ejike, said. ICONIC Nigeria is dedicated to using its platform to celebrate and recognise Nigerian businesses for their contribution towards a multi-faceted and interdependent enterprise economy.
