Anxiety yesterday gripped the residents of Ilorin, Kwara State capital over the robbery scare at one of the new generation banks in the town. As early asÂ 9.00 a.m., residents of the town especially those passing through the Unity road, were apprehensive over the purported attack on the bank that is located at the Unity road, the state capital.Â The development according to THISDAY checks, led to many residents passing through the area especially workers, turn back while those in taxi cabs had to come down and run for their dear lives. It was at this stage that the state police command moved a detachment of anti-riot policemen to Unity road and other strategic locations in the state so as to forestall any attack as rumoured. The state police command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi in a statement denied any attack on any bank.
