AD: Suspended Avazi has no Authority to Convey NWC meeting

The Alliance for Democracy (AD) has said that its suspended National Chairman, Chief Joseph Avazi, has no power to convey any National Working Committee meeting as he reportedly did, urging the public to disregard him and his co-travellers.
The embattled chairman was reported to hado suspended all state executives among other decisions purportedly taken.
Against this backdrop,  the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ms. Olayinka Nola,  weekend in a statement said Avazi remains suspended and declared the outcome of his reported meeting as illegal and unconstitutional.
The statement reads in part :”Our attention has been drawn to the Kangaroo NWC meeting chaired by the suspended National Chairman of Alliance for Democracy, AD at no location known to members of the party.
“The public is hereby urged to dismiss whatever resolution which came out of such meeting as illegal, unconstitutional and a ruse.By the constitution of our party ÀD,the NWC even if well constituted and properly convened, has no powers to suspend any state Exco let alone the whole. Still, Chief Joseph Avazi who has remained suspended from office since September 6, 2017 and endorsed by INEC, lacks the authority to convene any meeting until his case is finally determined by NEC.
“Finally, Chief Avazi and his co travellers criminally and in contempt of a court injunction, flagrantly disobeyed an order of a çompetent court, have decided to cause disaffection in our party in an unprecedented manner. This will not be allowed to stand.”
