OLX Raises Consumers’ Hopes in 2018

With the aim of raising consumers’ financial status especially with the huge spending of the yuletide season that got many cash-strapped, leading Online Classifieds Site, OLX, is helping consumers to  sell off their unused and excess items on its platform.

According to the company, it deemed it  economic for consumers to convert unused and unneeded items at home for cash  rather than allow them  to clutter the house or waste away, thus harming the environment further.

In the words of the company’s  public relations and communications Lead, Uche Nwagboso, as the year is still fresh, there is the tendency that most people are in possession of what they do not need, most of which came in either as gift or as purchased  during the yuletide season.

“As we look towards a clean start in 2018, this is an excellent time to declutter your home of unused items. We all have a tendency to always want more, and to hold on to things we deem sentimental but how many things do we really need, especially with the acquisition of gifts during the Yuletide season.

“Most people are usually financially strapped after the festivities and the average household is sitting on thousands of naira in unused items like smartphones, electronics and furniture.”

“With the OLX platform, users can post their items across several categories on the site which gives them access to a lot of buyers to make win-win exchanges. Users are implored to meet in a public place to ensure a smooth and safe transaction”, she said.
