How did you come about the name Jaywize?
James is my confirmation name, as a Catholic, and I love wisdom, so I formed the name Jaywize. And everybody loves the name; people even add their own style to the name.
What’s your style of music?
I just flow with whatever comes out of my mind and it always sounds great, and many things inspire my sound. So, you must learn 1 or 2s. It’s a gift, so whether I like it or not it will always come out great.
What’s your plan for 2018?
Yeah it’s a new year, and the country is going through a lot of challenges, so I will voice in different platforms. I’m ready for the year and I’m sure my listeners are waiting, as there is a lot on the table for them.
Who are your role models and mentors?
Akon, Tu face, and every one of us are my role models, and so long as you make great music and I see prospect in you, I will love to work with you. I just love it simple.
Besides music, what do you do?
Outside music I’m a Career Diplomat and I’m always at conferences, discussing African issues. Everything I do is what I love and that keeps me going.
