It was a time of fun to remember for thousands of Lagosians who thronged the beach front of Hard Rock Café Victoria Island, Lagos recently for the much publicized concert featuring Nigeria’s music rave of the moment and Pepsi music ambassador, Wizkid, , Tiwa Savage (another Pepsi music ambassador), Wande Coal and others.
With notable Nigerian DJs such as DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Neptune, DJ Spinall, DJ Big N on the console, the event which was part of Pepsi’s “ NoShakinCarryGoDesembaa†campaign lived up to the billing.
After the warming up of the crowd by the DJs, Mr. Eazi was the first main act of the night. He worked up the crowd with his very popular tunes including ‘Sample You’. Next was Wande Coal, who is a bridge between the old and the new. His energy was electric as he pounced the perimeter of the stage. He was well appreciated by the crowd as he sang hit after hit from his rich repertoire.
Tiwa Savage was obviously the queen of the night. Dressed in creamy short gown, she dazzled the crowd with Kaffy and her dancers complementing with breathtaking choreography.
By the time she wound up with ‘All Over’ her popular song now making waves, the crowd did not agree with the obvious interpretation of the song. How can it be all over when they were waiting for Wizkid.
Like a heavyweight champion entering the ring, the Starboy was ushered on stage. He was dressed in a redtop with red scarf around his head. The crowd went wild at his appearance. They were ecstatic on seeing Wizkid who just won the prestigious MOBO awards.
For over one hour, Wizkid kept the fans spellbound, taking them on a journey into his rich music cabinet.
