Iheanacho Relieved with Draw, Iwobi Suffers Setback

.Injury rules Simon out of Algeria match

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho took to the Social Media to express pleasure with Leicester for the fighting spirit displayed by the Foxes in their 2-2 draw against Stoke City over the weekend.

Leicester were denied of the maximum points by the heroics of Peter Crouch, whose firm header with 17 minutes left on the clock, ensured that both teams ended the tie on equal footing at the bet365 Stadium.

The Nigerian, a 25 million pounds acquisition for Leicester, who substituted Shinji Okazaki before the hour mark, subsequently took to the social media to express his satisfaction at picking a point away from home.

“3 points w’d have been great. However, the team should be very proud we took a point from a difficult away ground. We keep going #LCFC,” he tweeted.

The season has been a rather difficult campaign for Iheanacho since his switch from Manchester City as he has struggled to match his outstanding scoring feat of last season and is often left on Leicester bench.

Alex Iwobi also got a decent look before he made way for Jack Wilshere in the second half as Arsenal were beaten 3-1 by Man City at the Etihad.

The result put pressure on Arsene Wenger and underlined Arsenal’s indifferent start to the campaign, where they are 12 points off the lead, and in sixth position after 11 matches.

Meanwhile, Moses Simon has compounded coach Gernot Rohr worries by being the next player to withdraw from Nigerian squad due to open camp today for the Russia 2018 qualifier against Algeria and the friendly against Argentina due to fitness problem.

Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo are not available because of injury, while the situation of Eddy Onazi, John Ogu and Leon Balogun is also being assessed.
