Niger Gov Charges New VC to Be Firm, Transparent

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has told the new Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Professor Abdullahi Bala, to be firm and transparent in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Prof. Bala was last week named the new vice-chancellor of the university by its governing council.

He will succeed Prof. Musbau Akanji whose mandate expires on December 3, 2017.

In a congratulatory message to the new vice-chancellor, Bello also described his appointment as “the outcome of many years of hard work, commitment and selfless service to humanity”.

The governor in the statement signed by his chief press secretary Jibrin Ndace, acknowledged the enormity of the task ahead of the new vice-chancellor and asked him to “be steadfast in making decisions; imbibe the spirit of continuity and bring about innovations in line with global best practices”.
