Tompolo’s Kinsmen Excited, Commend FG for Take Off Of Maritime University, Okerenkoko

Kinsmen of ex-militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemukpolo (Tompolo) were yesterday excited over the directive of federal government for the immediate take off of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko in Warri South West Local Gobernment Area of Delta State.

From their reactions, pasted mostly on social media groups promoted by Ijaws from Gbaramatu kingdom, they expressed appreciation that the university, which is one of the 16 points demand by Chief Edwin Clark led Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) will now come into fruition.

Also in a statement, the Chairmen of Gbararmatu Communities commended the federal government for approving the immediate take off of the Maritime University located at Okerenkoko.

Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo had o. Tuesday disclosed that the Federal Government has released N2 billion for the take off of the University.

The Vice President who disclosed this while declaring open the 2nd National Council on Niger Delta in Akure, Ondo State, said the University will take off by October.

Reacting to the cheering news in the statement issued in Warri by the Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community, Comrade Sheriff Mulade on behalf of the Chairmen of Gbararmatu Communities, they hailed the Government for giving final nod for the take off the University.

“We want to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the immediate take off of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko in Gbararmatu Kingdom Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

“We equally want to sincerely thank the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo for his doggness and unflinching support to find a lasting solutions to the Niger Delta issues”, the Chairmen said.

They assured all intending students and the public of adequate security and a conducive learning environment for their wards.
