The Lagos State Police Command, Tuesday said it has arrested a soccer lottery agent, Dipo Akagha, for sodomising secondary school students from different schools across the state.

The 39-year-old, a resident of 20, Mustapha Kosoko Street, Ijesha, was arrested by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) after one of the school students complained about him.

It was gathered that the stock in trade of the serial sodomist was to stalk his potential victims on different social media platforms, especially on Facebook.

Prior to his arrest, he had successfully lured several school kids through the social media by enticing them with the promise of a free new phone.

According to the police, his target on secondary school students was because they were at an impressionable stage, where they can be lured by the finer things of life.

The police said once he succeeded in snatching their interest, the suspect would then lure them to his hideout where he would have his way with them and threatened them afterwards.

Once he is through with them, the suspect blocks them from all his social media platform to avoid been caught and redeeming his pledge of getting them a new phone.

Confirming the arrest, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the suspect mostly targets secondary school students in Lagos.

He said: “In one of the schools he targeted, the school reported to the police and this led to his arrest.
“We are appealing to parents and guardians of children and secondary school students to take interest in what their kids do on the Internet.”
