Katsina State Television Ready to go Digital Next Year, Says Masari

Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari has promised to ensure full digitization of the state owned television KTTV by next year.

Masari, who disclosed this during the launching of digitization of KTTV project at the headquarters of the station along Batsari road in Katsina.

The governor explained that the digitisation project was started  following high level of talks with professionals In the field.

Masari revealed that the current transmitters at Headquarters, Dabawa, Funtua and Daura  would become obsolete when the whole globe embraced digitization next year.

Masari adding that efforts are being made to  join the international community to allow the television station to transmit through digital satellite.

In a remark, the state Commissioner of Information, Culture and Home Affairs, Alhaji Hamza Muhammad Borodo  announced that the contract for the digitization of KTTV was awarded at the Cost of Four hundred and seventeen million naira to Royal Telecommunications limited on the first of April, 2016.

The Commissioner expressed optimism that the digitization would assist the television station to operate with good quality pictures and reception to attract additional audience.

He implored staff of the state owned television station to reciprocate the effort of  government by rededicating themselves to duty.

The commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Masari for given the state radio and television the rare freedom to air even the views of people who disagree with government, especially the opposition.
