FCTA Arrests Six for Pasting Graffiti on Public Walls

The Federal Capital City, (FCT) Administration has apprehended six persons for scribbling graffiti on public buildings and infrastructure in the city.

FCTA Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Hazat Sule, said in a statement friday that the culprits have been handed over to security agents. He further added that the six offenders would face the full weight of the law the as the Administration would not allow public spaces in the nation’s capital to be defaced.

According to the administration the public buildings and bridges were scrawled with graffiti after the recent massive removal of such writings to give the city a face-lift.

The statement warned that security agents are now maintaining 24-hour surveillance on the territory to ensure that graffiti writers and the likes are promptly apprehended.

“It must be noted that Abuja remains the window through which the world sees Nigeria and therefore, must be maintained with high sense of commitment and responsibility,” Sule said.
