Indigenous boat manufacturer and fast growing maritime company, Tarzan Boat Services, has been recognised by The African institute for leadership Excellence as the best marine operator for 2016.
The award ceremony which held in Sheraton Hotels, Lagos, recently was sponsored in partnership with Fast Track Brand communication, publishers of the African Brands Journal, supported by African Brand congress and international brand management .
According to organisers of the award, the recognition given Tarzan Boat was due to its outstanding contribution to the development of the maritime sector, thus boosting Africa’s image in the international market while displaying un-common high standard of good corporate citizenship.
According to the organising secretary, Bello Ibrahim, Africa in the last decade had experienced significant economic growth that had not only put it on the spotlight but had also attracted foreign investment like never before, adding that this was made possible through the leadership excellence of some selected Africa corporate organisations that had demonstrated uncommon initiative in the Africa economy.
In his remark, the Managing Director of Tarzan Boat Service, Balogun Tarzan expressed his heart-felt gratitude for the honour which he said was a motivator that would make the company deliver better.
He seized the opportunity to reflect on issues bothering on water transportation in the country as he pleaded with government to address the challenge of multiple taxation especially, and advocated for a convenient and coordinated tax system from the various organs of government.
He also urged government to strengthen security on the water ways as well create a conducive business environment that would encourage manufacturers within and outside the country.
