Edo Election Must Be Transparent, Secondus Warns INEC

The immediate past Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure credible election in the September 28 Edo state governorship poll.

He said that the Edo state election will again provide ample opportunity for the chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, to redeem his image from the previous inconclusive and questionable outing of the commission since he assumed the leadership of the electoral body.

The former Deputy National Chairman said in a statement at the weekend that the failure of INEC to conduct a credible poll in Edo state would impact negatively on the national stability and sustenance of democracy in the country.
