Two mobile policemen were killed in the early hours of Tuesday at Hawan Kibo, along Jos – Abuja road when armed robbers attacked a patrol team attached to the Plateau State security outfit.
The robbers also attacked a convoy of bullion vans belonging to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which incidentally ran into the scene of the attack, killing another cop.
THISDAY gathered that the robbers, who were in military uniform, ambushed the security men some metres away from a military checkpoint just before Hawan-kibo.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tyopev Terna confirmed the incident to newsmen on Tuesday, describing it as unfortunate.
