The Director General of the Voice of Nigerian, VON, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, has said the greatest beneficiaries of the ongoing quarrel over alleged budget padding in the House of Representatives would be the President, Muhammadu Buhari, his party the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nigerians.

He said that what can be deduced from the reactions trailing the cross-fire between the combatants in the budget paddling saga is that everyone now detests fraudulent practices and are ready to condemn it.

The former House Committee chairman on Appropriation, Hon. Abdulmumuni Jibrin had accused the Speaker and some other principal officers of padding the budget by N250 billion.

Okechukwu spoke in an interview with journalists at the funeral ceremony of the former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Abuja Council, late Comrade Chuks Ehirim, at the weekend.

According to the VON DG, if the allegations of budget padding against the Speaker of the House of Representatives by the former chairman of the House Committee of Appropriation is properly handled, it put an end to such criminal acts.
