Budget Crisis: APC’s Image May Suffer Irreparable Damage, Says Frank

*Urges Buhari, Atiku, Tinubu to intervene

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank, has warned that the party is at risk of  having its image and reputation battered by the budget scandal in the National Assembly if not tactfully managed.

Frank who spoke against the background of Tuesday’s peace meeting brokered by the APC leadership between House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, and  sacked committee chairman of appropriation in the House of Representatives, Abdulmumuni Jibril, said that the worrisome aspect of the poor crisis management besetting the party is that members are beginning to lose faith and confidence in the capacity of the  leadership to deal with conflicts.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Comrade Frank commended the initiative taken by the leadership to summon the combatants in the House of Representatives budget imbroglio for talks, but lamented that such a move was coming too late after a lot of damage had already been done.

Frank who had earlier criticised the party for its silence over the squabbles involving its National Assembly members, said Jibril  acted in utter disrespect for the National Working Committee (NWC) under Chief John Odigie-Oyegun when he continued his verbal attacks on the Speaker even after the party had intervened in the lingering budget padding scandal.
