Sallah: Work for Nation’s Unity, Tambuwal Urges Nigerians

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has urged all Nigerians to close ranks and work for the unity, stability and progress of the nation.

In a message to commemorate this year’s eid-el-fitr sallah celebration issued in Sokoto by his spokesman, Malam Imam Imam, Tambuwal also enjoined Muslims to use the opportunity of the end of Ramadan to offer prayers to God for peaceful co-existence among different ethno-religious groups in the country.

“Even though the Ramadan period is over, we must continue to live up to the tenets of our faith through acts of charity, peaceful coexistence, obedience to the injunctions of Holy Qu’ran and sacrifice,” the statement quoted the Governor as saying.

While urging all Nigerians to demonstrate the spirit of tolerance, unity, forgiveness and compassion to compatriots, Tambuwal urged Muslims in the country and beyond to be worthy ambassadors of the faith by exemplifying all of the virtues that distinguished Prophet Mohammad (SAW).

“I therefore extend warm greetings to all the people of our dear State of Sokoto in particular, and Nigerians in general. I want to reaffirm the commitment of this administration to uplifting the living standard of our people, and creating opportunity for them to realize their objectives as citizens.

“Together, we can make our dear state and our country greater,” the Governor added.
