Labour leaders who picketed some offices in Ado Ekiti to enforcecompliance with the state-wide strike called to protest against unpaidfive months’ salaries on Friday beat up some workers on essentialduties for allegedly working as saboteurs.There were also reported cases of deaths at the emergency section ofthe Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital , Ado Ekiti, as fourpeople who were brought in as emergency cases were reported to have died onThursday.The picketing was carried by a task force set up by the Chairmen ofthe Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ade Adesanmi, TUC, Comrade OdunayoAdesoye and that of Joint Negotiating Council.The rampaging task force, who brandished cudgels, visited the oldand new governor’s offices and chased out those on essential services,especially the staff of the protocol unit, those of directorate cadreand staff of the internal revenue service.
